Becoming

Life is about the journey, it is not about "being, but becoming."

becoming…adj. fit, suitable, congruous, proper, graceful, belonging to the character or adapted to circumstances…

"This life, therefore, is not righteousness, but growth in righteousness; not health, but healing; not being, but becoming; not rest, but exercise. We are not yet what we shall be, but we are growing toward it. The process is not yet finished, but it is going on. This is not the end, but it is the road. All does not yet gleam in glory, but all is being purified."--- Martin Luther, *Defense of All the Articles*, Lazareth transl., as found in Grace Brame, *Receptive Prayer* (Chalice Press, 1985) p.119(Thank you Bella Art Girl for the quote!)

Some Links

I have spent some time at the blog home of Megan Francis lately. Two posts that I especially enjoyed were on Stroller Envy (yes, I do have a bit of a case of stroller envy, although if you saw my stroller, it would make sense) and on opting out of celebrity gossip (convicting and well thought out).

I also discovered this blog, called A Year Off from Megan's blog. It is the blog of a family that is asking the question, "What would happen if we just stopped shopping?" It is an intesting thought. I especially like the post title, "Ikea is Swedish for Clutter." Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy Ikea, but it is easy to walk out of there with more stuff than is really necessary. The as is/damaged section always sucks M and I in.
