Becoming

becoming…adj. fit, suitable, congruous, proper, graceful, belonging to the character or adapted to circumstances…

"This life, therefore, is not righteousness, but growth in righteousness; not health, but healing; not being, but becoming; not rest, but exercise. We are not yet what we shall be, but we are growing toward it. The process is not yet finished, but it is going on. This is not the end, but it is the road. All does not yet gleam in glory, but all is being purified."--- Martin Luther

Books For the Season

During a recent visit to the library we discovered these two books. The book We Three Kings by Gennady Spirin is the classic song, We Three Kings, written on beautifully illustrated pages. The artwork is truly stunning.
This sweet gem of a story was published in 1992. It is the story of a boy, whose family celebrates Chanukah and his friend, Elijah, who celebrates Christmas. Not only does Elijah celebrate Christmas, but he has devoted his hobby of wood carving to carving things that are from the Bible. When Elijah gives the boy an angel, the boy adores it but is concerned his parents won't want him to have it. He then learns a lesson about friendship with a person who has a different faith.
