Becoming

becoming…adj. fit, suitable, congruous, proper, graceful, belonging to the character or adapted to circumstances…

"This life, therefore, is not righteousness, but growth in righteousness; not health, but healing; not being, but becoming; not rest, but exercise. We are not yet what we shall be, but we are growing toward it. The process is not yet finished, but it is going on. This is not the end, but it is the road. All does not yet gleam in glory, but all is being purified."--- Martin Luther

Oh How Times Change

This little thought was written back in November:

Today the boys and I were watching our morning art history video on KhanAcademy. In one part of the video the narrators were discussing the Arch of Titus and the nude and partially nude men who were marching heroically into battle.  A said something along the lines of, "You know mom, I just don't think I would like marching naked into a battle.  It would feel too vulnerable."  Indeed.

It is interesting how battle attire has ebbed and flowed from nude to suits of armor to the gear soldiers now wear.  Times do change.
