My best ideas are often the ones I copy from others. Here is another idea that I copied from someone else. For Valentine's Day this year we will be giving heart shaped recycled crayons. We took the old broken crayons from the crayon box and the kids had a great time picking color combinations to put into a metal heart shaped pan. We then put the crayons into the oven at 250 degrees and let them melt. After they had cooled, we popped them out and some of our results are pictured below.

LOVE this idea! So you didn't melt them before pouring into pan? What type of pan is it? I think we may just have to try this for homeschool co-op valentines.
We put the broken crayons in the pan and put the pan in a 250 degree oven for about 15 minutes, I believe. Then they harden really quickly. It surprised me how fast.
